All the ingredients in till ladoo help to keep the body warm. This is an immensely healthy Indian sweetmeat because it uses the natural jaggery instead of processed sugar!
- 1/2 cup sesame seeds / til
- 1/2 cup crushed peanuts
- 1/2 cup jaggery/gur
- 3 teaspoons clarified butter/ghee
Dry roast sesame seeds till they become light brown. Set aside.
In a pan, heat clarified butter. Add jaggery. On low heat, allow the jaggery to melt. Keep stirring to avoid overcooking.
Add sesame seeds and crushed peanuts to the melted jaggery.
Mix and turn off the heat.
Let the mixture cool just enough to be semi-solid and yet comfortable to touch.
Take 1 tablespoon of the mixture and press it and roll between the palms to make a ball.
Use up the mixture to make more balls. These are called ladoo in Hindi, an immensely popular sweetmeat in India.
