Ingredients

  • 1 cup semolina
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon clarified butter
  • 10-12 chopped almonds
  • 10-12 raisins
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 3 cups water

Method

In a deep pan or wok, roast semolina in clarified butter till it turns light brown. If you have a pack of roasted semolina, skip this step.

Put sugar and water. On low heat, let the semolina cook. Stir occasionally. The water will evaporate, leaving you with a thickening paste.

When it is thick enough, mix in cardamom powder, almonds, and raisins. It will solidify further once cool.

Note: You can substitute clarified butter with vegetable oil, but using clarified butter will give you a richer taste.
