Roasted cumin seeds powder is frequently used as a hot spice in Indian curries, chaat, and yogurt. Sprinkling a few pinches of roasted cumin seeds powder gives a unique spicy taste to a dish.
Ingredients for Roasted Cumin Seeds Powder
- 2 tablespoons cumin seeds
Heat a wide pan. Spread the cumin seeds on it, and roast on low heat for 3-4 minutes, stirring continuously.
You will get a pungent smell of roasting. Stirring contentiously is essential to roast them properly from all sides.
After turning off the heat, let the seeds stay on the pan for another minute.
Put the seeds in a grinder to grind them into a powder. If you are roasting a small quantity, you may use a rolling pin to grind them.
