Ingredients for potato peas stuffed Indian bread

  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 4 potatoes (boiled, peeled and mashed)
  • 2 tablespoons boiled peas
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 2 tablespoons clarified butter or vegetable oil
  • Salt and black pepper

Cooking

Mix 2 pinches salt in flour, add water and knead to make a dough.

In a bowl, mix potatoes, peas, coriander powder, salt, and black pepper. You may put chopped cilantro and ginger if you like more flavors.

From the large dough, make a smaller dough, the size of a ping pong ball.

Roll the dough just enough to make a small round. At its center, put 1 1/2 teaspoons potato stuffing. Take the circumference of the rolled out dough and pull it to the top to seal the stuffing inside.

Flatten the dough using your palm to evenly spread the stuffing inside.

Roll the dough using a rolling pin.

Heat a shallow pan on medium heat. Place the uncooked bread on it. Flip it in 7-8 seconds. You should get small brown spots on it. Spread 1 teaspoon clarified butter on the bread. Flip it over in 7-8 seconds. You may now need to turn the heat to low. Spread clarified butter on this side as well. Flip again to let the bread fry.

Remove and enjoy having it!

You can have it with pickle and/or yogurt.
